When Izaak was born on April 18, 2012, I spent the day at the hospital snuggling with him.  At the time, I had no idea that I was embarking on a seven-year long adoption journey.  When Izaak and his dad came to live with me, I was delighted to be able to spend more time with him.  Unfortunately, my son passed away shortly before Izaak’s third birthday and Izaak went to live with his birth mother.  A year later, he returned to me, and I received non-parental custody.  Finally, on Izaak’s seventh birthday, his mother agreed to let me adopt him!  On July 10, 2019 the adoption was finalized.  Izaak and I owe so many thanks to Mark Iverson and his staff for making the process so easy.  Izaak is happy in the home he knows he will keep forever!
