My husband J came into our lives when L was 5.  From the moment he entered our lives he embraced us as a whole family and took on that role as dad.  He has been there through it all and never missed an event, performance or anything that L was involved in.  A couple years ago L approached J’s parents and told him that he would like to legally become part of their family.  It was to be a birthday surprise for J after L turned 18.  

This last March we were finally able to gift the adoption papers to J.  We finalized the adoption this June.  Such an emotional day.  To have our family legally be what we have always been is so powerful.  We can’t thank Mark and his staff enough.  They were so wonderful with communication and helping us keep it a secret so it would be a surprise.
